Go Camping Hammock 2.0 {Review & Giveaway!!}

Being in the outdoors is one the things I love most. With all of the busyness of life; raising kids, keeping house, homeschooling and everything else grabbing for my attention, there's something about sunshine through the pine trees, and the sounds of creation that makes time stand still. For a moment I get to breathe in the stillness. Being in the outdoors for me is freedom, even if it's only for an afternoon. Laying in a hammock is one of the best ways to enjoy the great outdoors and I've got Go Outfitter's newest Go Camping Hammock 2.0, given to me at no cost to facilitate this review, to share with you today!

Go Camping Hammock 2.0

Once I discovered the joy of hammocking I decided I'd never sleep in a tent again. So far I've not found a tent that has made me change my mind, but this hammock has reinforced my "no tent" decision! The kids and I left to spend the day at our favorite spot in Pennsylvania (Granddad's). This wasn't my first time setting up a hammock but even if it was, I'm confident I'd find setting up the Go Camping 2.0 a snap!

Three things stand out for me with this hammock. The first is the size! At 11 feet long and 64 inches wide, this hammock was designed with comfort in mind. I have such a hard time trying to sleep on my back and being able to sleep and lay down on my side diagonally is huge in my book! Secondly, the build in mosquito net with ridge line takes out that extra step of setting up my rig.

My other hammocks require me to set up my own ridge line above my hammock as well as thread my hammock into my mosquito netting before I even hang it.  The Go Camping Hammock 2.0 cuts my set up time and gives me one less piece of gear that I have to pack with their net and line built right in.

Thirdly, this hammock gives you the option to stake out your netting to give your hammock a more "tentlike" feel. Basically, this hammock gives you the roomie appeal of a tent without having to sleep on the ground. Doesn't get much better than that!

Perfect For The Family!

While this hammock is designed as a "one-person" hammock the kids and I found that any one of them could jump in with me to read a book, tell stories, have some snuggle time or just sit quietly together enjoying the breeze. This hammock is also designed to be used with the bug net, or bug net rolled up for a better day time view. My three youngest kids found the Go Camping Hammock 2.0 to be a great place to sit a spell after climbing trees and jumping in leaves.

When it was time to pack up I found that my Go Outfitter Tree Straps (sold separately), rolled right up and fit inside of my hammock bag. As a six-person-family with lots of gear to pack and keep track up anytime our family goes camping, I always appreciate it when a product not only sets up with ease, but also gives me less to carry from vehicle to the outdoors.

Alas the time did finally come for us to say goodbye to our favorite pine-filled, escape-from-the-world adventure and no one wanted to see it end. We were all sad to have to take down our new hammock. My kids were confident we could officially live there! With it's easy to pack, set up in a snap, everything in one design, I promised them it wouldn't be long before we were out in our Go Camping Hammock 2.0 enjoying everything nature has to offer, without the bugs of course!

  8. Love how large this hammock is and I also like that it comes with a built-in mosquito net. My husband and I would use it when we go to the park and when we go camping. I'm sure my kids would love it too and they would most likely want to borrow it frequently for their outdoor excursions.
