1. Food
Lunchskins

Lunchskins bags reduce single-use plastic pollution right from the kitchen counter. Our dishwasher-safe reusable bags can be used again and again, and our new recyclable paper sandwich bags are easy to use once and toss.

Recyclable + Resealable Paper Sandwich Bags, 50-ct. Box
As a Mom of four kids, I've packed a lot of lunches over the years and this is the first time I've ever used a sealable paper sandwich bag. Based on taste alone, I'll never go back to plastic! I packed turkey sandwiches for the family in the early morning hours before we left, threw them in our canvas cooler and hoped for the best. I have a serious fear of soggy bread, and by serious I mean extreme gag reflex. We didn't pull out our lunch until 5 hours into our trip and boy, I've never tasted a packed sandwich so fresh and crisp! It was as if I had just made it on my kitchen counter. With FREE-Shipping you never have an excuse to run out of these awesome sandwich bags!
Reusable Sandwich Bags (Velcro)
Aside from the fact that this is the perfect bag for any sandwich, my kids really loved all of the different styles. My 8-year-old son, Elijah, is an animal lover and adored the red and white dog-covered bag we got from Lunchskins. Celebrating all of my children's personalities just added one more reason to love these products!
Reusable Sandwich Bags (Zippered)
Say yes to never having to mess with those fussy ziplock closures! Though you can use these bags for sandwiches, I found them to be perfect to bitesize snacks, including chips and fruit!

Berenstain Bears Bless Our Pets

In the newest Berenstain Bear Living Lights title, The Berenstain Bears Bless Our Pets, Brother, Sister, and Honey Bear love their pets Little Lady, Gracie, Swish, and Cutsie … they are just like part of the Bear family. So when Preacher Brown holds a special Blessing of the Pets service on Sunday, the Bear family joins in. But what starts as a peaceful gathering of Bear Country neighbors and their animal friends on the lawn of the Chapel—including dogs, cats, rats, goats, and even a snake or two—ends up needing a little heavenly intervention.
Berenstain Bears Bless Our Gramps & Gran

In The Berenstain Bears Bless Our Gramps and Gran, the newest title in The Berenstain Bears Living Lights series, Mama, Papa, and the cubs decide it’s high time they honor Grizzly Gramps and Gran. It’s almost Grandparents Day and the Bear family has never celebrated this special day before. So working as a team, the cubs, with a little help from Mama and Papa, come up with a fun and creative way to show Gramps and Gran just how much they are loved and appreciated.
I'm Going To Give You A Bear Hug

I’m Going to Give You a Bear Hug!, written by bestselling author Caroline B. Cooney, is a playful and comforting bedtime book that imagines all the wonderful ways a child might give and receive a hug. Whether it’s a big bear, gasp for air, knock over a chair hug or a wet and drippy, slimy, slippy fish hug, children will giggle their way through all the imaginative examples. Cooney’s sweet and simple rhymes encourage playful interaction between parent and child and ultimately help them wind down before they snuggle into bed and drift off to sleep.
You will find something for every reader at Zondervan! These books were perfect considering I have one kids who loves animals, our road trip was in part, to see Grandparents. The Bear Hug book was especially adorable and it's become a very favorite bedtime book of my youngest, Levi.

3. Movies
Warner Bros. Home Entertainment

The Lego Movie
The Lego Batman Movie
Fantastic Beasts And Where To Find Them
Storks
Our family still has yet to watch "Fantastic Beasts" (ya'll will have to fill me in on if you liked this one or not), but we are huge fans of the Lego movies! My kids have the greatest time laughing, especially at The Lego Batman. Storks is incredibly cute and adorable! Even though I was keeping my eyes on the road, even I enjoyed listening to the movies and smiling as I watched my kids taking a break from the monotony of the road and sharing some laughs with each other.

I would add a small cooler to hold drinks!
ReplyDeleteThat's definitely important! I like using our canvas bag cooler on the road - i feel like i can squish it to fit in smaller spaces easier than hard cooler lol
DeleteI would add the cuddle buddies u neck pillow
ReplyDeleteI would really like to have the Lunchskins reusable sandwich bags. I pack lunches for the park and school so I would feel good about being less wasteful and they look cute too.
ReplyDeleteThey really hold up well too! This is one of those products I'll be going back and buying for myself and my family again and again!
DeleteI love the Berenstain Bear books!! They are family favorites! Taking books on road trips is a great idea to keep the kids entertained! We also like to carry a small cooler with cold water or lemonade. It definitely beats having to stop to buy a drink every time someone gets thirsty.
ReplyDeleteI love the idea of adding lemonade to the drink situation! A nice way to feel refreshed being stuck in the car. And definitely beats having to pay rest stop/gas station prices for drinks!
DeleteI really like the
ReplyDeleteReusable Sandwich Bags (Zippered) My grandchildren love to have alot of food to snack on during rode trips.
The zippered ones are awesome Linda! You can put so many different kind of snacks inside them!

ReplyDeleteNice prizes!
ReplyDeleteI would add a children's audio chapter book to the arsenal if the kids are old enough to enjoy them. When mine were young I read The Indian in the Cupboard all the way from TX to Colorado to help keep 4 kids entertained. We all enjoyed it.
ReplyDeleteDuring our last road trip both of my kiddos came down with fevers! For this reason, I say tylenol and kid's dramamine are a must. They allowed my kids to sleep and regenerate until we could get to a hotel and comfort them otherwise.
ReplyDeleteI would probably add some good kids music CD's - my son likes to dance to them sometimes. :)
ReplyDeleteI like the Cuddly Buddies® Throw - Liam Labrador Puppy. Everything on the list is needed! But I have always had a child ask for a blanket - when they get tired or cold. That's usually all the time in a car. The thing I would add on a Road Trip would be a pair of binoculars or a disposable camera. This way they would pay more attention to the scenery on this trip. They can always read books or watch DVDs.
ReplyDeleteI love the idea of binoculars! What a neat way for kids to enjoy the new scenery!
DeleteI can't do without chewy and crunch snacks on a road trip. They help keep me awake and focused while driving.
ReplyDeleteI like the reusable bags! they are perfect for dividing up a big bag of snacks so everyone has one! I'd add reusable water bottles to this list.
ReplyDeleteMust...have....DVDs....must...have....LEGO....Batman...
ReplyDeleteOur kids can't get enough of that one either! It's pretty hilarious!
DeleteI'd like the books most but all look nice
ReplyDeleteLove the Cuddly Buddies Footy Throw. We also always bring reusable Usborne Books wipe-clean activity books for our toddler and a variety of baby toys for our 7 month old.
ReplyDeleteI love the footie blanket. You never know when you will have car trouble. I wouldn't add anything to the list.
ReplyDeleteSnacks and drinks are a must.
ReplyDeleteI always forget the comfort measures-& then regret it.
ReplyDeleteI left one time without the pillow I sleep with every night - never again!! lol
DeleteI love the DVds and I would also bring a few snacks.
ReplyDeleteI love the reuseable sandwhich bags. I would add Purell sanitizer to the list.
ReplyDeleteI love the footie blanket and our road trip necessity is (are) brain teaser puzzles.
ReplyDeleteTwo must haves for our summer road trips this summer were the Kindle which played movies and the kids could play games on them, and dramamine.
ReplyDeleteI like the books. I also like to take games.
DeleteMy youngest two need that u-neck pillow! They always fall asleep in the car and I always hate to see their little heads fall forward. I would add baby wipes and hand sanitizer to the list.
ReplyDeleteThe Road Trip Necessity that I love is the Cuddly Buddies U-Neck Pillow. I would add moist wipes to the list for dirty fingers and messes after all those road trip snacks.
