This Year, Put Science Under The Christmas Tree {With The Squishy Human Body}!

If you've followed Our Southern Style for any length of time you've probably heard me talk about my 3rd grade daughter, Eva. Every kid is unique and special and Eva is no different. Of all my kids she's the one that is most interested in learning. Science, History, Math, she doesn't care as long as she's learning. As a Mom it makes me super excited that I don't have to harp on her to get her homework done and I feel so proud watching her be enthusiastic about following her dreams of using Science in a career one day. For some kids, excitement doesn't always come easy when you're talking about learning but I've found that if you can find educational toys that make learning fun and interactive, kids will welcome the opportunity to grow. Video games and "real life" animals are super cool, but why not use Christmas as an opportunity to unlock a hidden interest in your child? This year, I'm putting SCIENCE under the Christmas tree for all of my kids and Smart Lab, who sent me the item pictured above at no cost to facilitate this feature, has one of the most unique and educationally fun toys that any kid would love, the Squishy Human Body!

I have long been a fan of the TV show Bones and little did I know that when I'd have it playing on my computer while making dinner in the kitchen, my then 6-year-old Eva would be sneaking a peek anytime they were examining a body. When I finally caught her I thought she'd be scarred for life or at the very last have a nightmare or two, but instead she was absolutely intrigued by they way the characters could figure out all kinds of information based only on the bones of the human body. The Smart Lab Squishy Human Body is from start to finish an easy way for kids to explore not only how the body is made up, but even how digestion and organs work to keep us healthy and growing!

At first glace some people mind find the Squishy Human Body a little bit morbid, but if you take a closer look, it's really more of a scientific viewpoint, especially with the included tweezers and forceps. I can already imagine that while some kids think of the human body and its systems and "gross" or "disgusting" using this interactive toy will actually help stimulate many children see the human body for what it is and because of this early learning experience, go on to become doctors, surgeons, anthropologist, criminologist, dietitian, and more! The learning possibilities are endless with the Squishy Human Body!
