Simply Spiced Apple Butter

There is nothing like warm biscuits and apple butter! The smell that fills your home while its cooking is almost as great as its taste!  Now you can make your own apple butter at home using just a few simple ingredients and a crock pot (I love mine from Brylane Home)! Hope you enjoy my Simply Spiced Apple Butter recipe!

Here's what some local West Virginian's had to say about my Simply Spiced Apple Butter:

To be honest, I found a crock pot apple butter recipe some time ago and was very skeptical about what the outcome would be like so I put it off. After trying this Simply Spiced crock pot apple butter my mind has completely changed.  It was absolutely delicious and I will make my own from now on instead of paying $12-15 at the farmers market. - Blair

I love this apple butter because you can actually taste the fresh apple in it. It has a nice taste to it. It was still sweet but not too sweet which was nice because a lot of apple butter is overly sweet. I would recommend this to anyone who loves apple butter. - Sadie

I definitely approve this apple butter! It honestly is so delicious I could put it on bread and make myself and apple butter sandwich! - Sam
Spiced Apple Butter Recipe Some people like their apple butter really sweet - I like to taste the apples. Feel free to add more sugar - but its best to taste as you go. You can always add more sugar but you can never take it back out. Spiced Apple Butter Recipe If you know a local farmer or a neighbor with horses - treat them with your left over peels.Take over a jar of your apple butter and a bag of apple scraps.  It's a great way to make sure nothing goes to waste and be a blessing to your neighbor. 1. I LOVE Apple Butter!! A lot of restaurants don't offer it here!! I get the store bought brand, but I'm pinning this! I enjoy apple butter on toast, bagels, plain donuts, oatmeal, certain pies or cakes, etc.

  3. My husband absolutely loves apple butter. He ate a whole pint jar in a week! He would flip if I made him some... and this sounds delish! I love the idea of having it on a biscuit.

  4. Wow, this recipe is so much easier then cooking them with their peels on and having to put them through a sieve. My grandson has been asking me for some apple butter and we are definitely going to try this recipe out. Thanks...

  5. We are starting to run low here at my house - hoping we can make it through the holidays without having to make more - but it's easy enough to make, I'm thinking about making a batch and dressing them up for little Christmas gifts :)

  7. My family loves apple butter. I'm going to try this recipe but might try a different apple because honeycrisp apples are very expensive around here, almost $2 for each apple. I love that I can make this in the slow cooker. Thanks for sharing the recipe.

  8. You can certainly use any kind of apple - you can always taste it half way through to see if its sweet enough for you - you can always add more sugar. You could try the Fuji apples if those are more reasonably priced in your area - the Honeycrisp are definitely more expensive this time of year. Have fun with your apple butter!

    1. Jenna, I have found that usually, when I stick to more simple ingredients the flavor in the "hero" of the dish (this one being apples) really signs through!
